Volunteers’ Week

To celebrate Volunteers’ Week we want to say a big thank Volunteer Pete Stevensonyou to all the amazing volunteers that help us at Gallery Oldham.

Pete Stevenson has been working with our Natural History curator Patricia Francis for 6 years. Here, he is helping us prepare for our new exciting foyer displays which you will be able to see from Saturday 15 June. Pete is removing this mammoth tooth from the case; it will be replaced by other objects from our very diverse collections.

Oldham has an astounding natural history collection which includes plant, animal and geology specimens. Pete assists with cataloguing and labelling this collection which has over 80,000 objects. He also helps to look after our taxidermy by regularly cleaning the birds and mammals.
