Gallery Talks and Tours

We’re so please to restart our regular Gallery Talks and Tours, so that we can welcome visitors into Gallery Oldham however we will also continue to provide some online talks for our wider audiences.

Curator Talks via Zoom

Have you always fancied learning a little more about the history of Oldham or Natural History? Have you spotted our monthly gallery talks and tours in the past but haven’t had the opportunity to take part?

We have the perfect solution. Join our new live talks from the comfort of your own home, guided by our expert curators, find out stories from the past and learn about our amazing art, social history and natural history collections! There’ll be a chance to ask questions at the end.

Each month there’ll be a new topic to explore; by taking part you’ll be supporting your local heritage and cultural sector. Talks are free, informal and last around 45 minutes with time for discussion afterwards.

Join Karen Heatley from our collections team and Michael Turner from the Oldham Rugby League Heritage Trust as we take a look at the fascinating objects in this recently donated rugby collection. Brought together by the Oldham Rugby League Heritage Trust over many years, it is recognised as being one of the most important rugby club memorabilia collections in the world. Objects include an array of caps, shirts and medals some of which date way back to the Victorian era. There is something for everyone with a passion for Rugby.
