Hilary's peoniesMy cousin (in her late 70,s) has the onset of Alzheimer she has never been married and has no children. Usually her brother, also in his late 70’s, who lives in Nottingham comes over once a week to check on her and takes her shopping. Because of Covid 19 he is unable to do this so I’ve been phoning her to check she is okay and doing her shopping. This week she had cut the peonies from her garden and they where in her front porch waiting for me and from her window she said “I don’t know what I would do without you. You are a star and these flowers are a little something I can do for you”Key worker children and banner at Alexandra Park schoolThese are our keyworker children at Alexandra Park Junior School, and their keyworker banner thanking the NHS and keyworkers including their Mum who works for the NHS.Bee badgeThe Manchester Bee was a sign of solidarity for many of us in the Greater Manchester area in 2017. This year, as we face this terrible pandemic the Bee was once again a sign of solidarity for me when a trusted nursing colleague who works in another Trust sent me this in the post. It said to me: 'I cannot be there to hug you at this difficult time but I am here for you always with love and support.'St Josephs School ShawSt Joseph's School Shaw key worker children spread some kindness, love and happiness to people. They designed hearts and placed them outside school for people to collect on their daily walks. They were for them to pass onto the people they were missing to show they loved and missed them.ZergMeet Zerg, a Stronger Communities Officer from First Choice Homes. During the coronavirus pandemic he’s embraced volunteering with Age UK Oldham to run errands for local people who are self isolating and supported The Bread and Butter Thing affordable food service.EmmaOur colleague Emma has swapped her day job as Stronger Communities Manager at First Choice Homes to volunteer with Age UK Oldham as a befriender during the pandemic. She is making wellbeing phone calls to older people in Oldham.Steve Hill of Team Hill Charitable TrustThe incredible Steve Hill MBE of Team Hill Charitable Trust who has supported the Children's Service at The Royal Oldham Hospital during the coronavirus lockdown. Steve and his team brought us hand cream when our skin was sore and cracking, he brought our resident parents 'goody bags' when he learned that visiting restrictions had been imposed, he brought us face cream when our masks irritated our skin, he brought the children toys, games and gifts.Baby Alice with thank you messageAlice is 6 months old, we painted this picture for our 2 older cousins who nurses and are on the frontline. We also made them a treat box of goodies to cheer them up We also been taking nice treats to our ambulance station to say Thank you.Comfort packs for nursesA Touch of Frost by Lauren and Jayne Ann raised money to provide these wonderful comfort packs for the Paediatric nursing team at the Royal Oldham Hospital. The donation, co-ordinated by Staff Nurse Lucy and her family, was an act of kindness that made a big impact on all our staff.Holy Cross artwork for ROHHoly Cross Primary School in Oldham created this incredible piece of artwork to donate to our Children's Unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital during lockdown. The school children completed the top half of the mural, leaving space for our children to complete the bottom half. What a way to bring our community together at this time! Thank you for your kindness!Deadline for ‘Kindness’ submissions was 9am Monday 1st June. We are really happy to have submissions on this theme for us to keep in our collection after this, but we may not be able to add them to our digital exhibition.
