Super Saturdays: What to do to keep the kids busy?
With schools closed and the kids at home, the question becomes what can I do to keep them busy? There is only so much reading, and so many educational activity sheets and programmes such as Sum Dog and Timetable Rock Stars, that they can do. Our brilliant teachers are doing their best to upload things onto our school blogs but there is still a lot of time to fill.
For all you parents juggling working from home and keeping the kids entertained we understand….Fear not, help is on hand. We’ve put together some fabulous crafty ideas to keep your young ones busy and encourage their creativity.
We know you’re unable to go out of the house to get random materials….. so all our suggestions only use things that most of us have lying around. Save up your recycling, get the glue from the back of the cupboard and find those felt-tips that aren’t dried out. Join in the fun, we would love to see what you have made. Make sure you post your works of art on Facebook and Instagram using #galleryoldham and @galleryoldham We will be sure to share them.
Follow us every Saturday on Instagram and Facebook for a new suggestion.
We’ll also be sharing ideas from other creative organisations that are definitely worth having a go at. There are a few links below:
Royal Academy has some fantastic family how-to activities
Tate has some great art games and apps for all you bidding artists out there.
