Nextwavearts micro commission – OPEN
We are delighted to announce that our first young person’s micro-commission programme is now open for applications.
NEXTWAVEARTS has been created by Gallery Oldham and Oldham Arts Development to support young people, aged 17 – 25, in response to Covid-19.
We want to work with young artists to explore, unpick and investigate Gallery Oldham’s art collection and create new work inspired by what they find. There are ten commissions available for the programme and we want to hear from artists of all disciplines from fine art to textiles, digital arts to performing arts.
To apply for one of the commissions we want to hear your idea – this can be in writing (a one-page document) or a film up to 5 minutes long. It should include:
– Which artwork(s) have you been inspired by?
– Why it has inspired you?
-What art form would you like to respond in? (Dance, Music, Drama, Visual arts, Design etc.
