New Foyer Displays: Have a peek at plans for OMA – the new Heritage and Arts Centre

We’re very busy installing some eye-catching new foyer displays at Gallery Oldham which will be revealed at the exhibition launch this Saturday.

Curious to find out about what the new Heritage and Arts Centre will look like and the types of objects that will be on display? This new exhibit will give you a taste of what’s to come looking to the future.

The redevelopment project will transform Oldham’s original Library, Museum and Art Gallery into a new space called OMA. OMA will feature ambitious new displays of our amazing collections. It will include a performance space, a new cafe and a bigger and better shop. Our foyer displays will tell you more and keep you up-to-date as the project progresses.

Plans to create OMA have been made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and local philanthropist Sir Norman Stoller.

Join us to on Saturday 15 June, 12 noon – 4pm to celebrate the opening of this new display as well as our other summer exhibitions, The Art of Science: Taxidermy by Jack Fishwick and From Waterloo to Peterloo. Hear some of the stories of Oldhamers at Peterloo and meet taxidermist Jack Fishwick. There will be loads of family fun activities for everyone to enjoy.
