A new project gets off to a great start…

Primrose Puddicomb

Our new project ‘Encountering the Unexpected’ began last Sunday evening at the Oldham Anglo West Indian Club. Gallery Oldham staff and our helper ‘Primrose’ were warmly welcomed by the community. We introduced ourselves and told the members a little about our special project. Then we introduced Primrose, who led a short talk and demonstration about her explorations of wildlife and the natural world.

Enjoying the fox fur

She passed around all manner of treasures taken from a seemly bottomless bag and her chatty conversation caused much laughter from the club members. The lovely soft fox fur and the beautiful cone shell were probably the star items of the night. While we sipped our ice cold lemonade we handed out our invitations to meet up with us and Primrose again this next Wednesday afternoon in the Gallery café – Naked Bean.

Surprised by a sheep skull!

We are hoping that some of the members we talked with will join us for coffee and cake and further investigations of the natural world. Look out for our next blog post and see where our explorations took us.
